3-Day Photographers Retreat

- Photography weekend getaway workshop will be held Thursday, September 23 through Sunday, September 26, 2004 co sponsored by the San Luis Obispo Camera Club. Enjoy workshops and a variety of field trips throughout the weekend. Cost is $350/person which includes meals and lodging at the camp. For those planning offsite lodging, the cost is $250/person for tuition only. Maximum enrollment is 80 students. Register online. Several special events are planned including field trips to pristine locations, a live model, great workshops, and a concluding special presentation by George Lepp, renowned nature photographer and columnist for Outdoor Photographer magazine. Each evening you can participate in a photo show of the days work with professional critique. Representatives from Nikon and Cannon will have their newest models on display, and the local camera shop will have supplies should you need some during the event.

California Sculptors' Symposium 2004

- This is presented by the Central Coast Sculptors. It is the second annual retreat offering a chance to spend quality time with like minded artists in a rustic setting. There is a large meadow with separate sections for Stone Carving (power and hand tools) and Wood Carving and two indoor studios to Sculpt in Clay and Sketch or Draw from life models. A variety of demonstrations and presentations will occur throughout the week, as well as evening fireside activities in the lodge. Apart from lectures and demonstrations, this is not an instructed event

- Join surfer and designer Rob Appell from The Cotton Ball in Morro Bay, CA for a weekend full of nautical inspiration. There will be several of Rob's original quilt patterns to work on. This weekend can also be used to work on any quilt project you like. So join Rob and his staff for a fantastic weekend in the pines overlooking the ocean.

Joe Dabill, nationally recognized primitive technology expert, with work in the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, will lead this 2 day workshop. Take home materials for authentic games, musical instruments & decorative arts. Demonstrations on fire making, tool making and ceremonial customs.
