Outdoor Education Rates

Overview: Camp Ocean Pines is more expensive than other outdoor education schools. Impacting kids is what we do. We have the best facilities, an excellent staff, we come to your school to build a relationship by making presentations and helping with fundraising. We work with teachers to offer customized programs. We know school budgets are tight and the crazy economy makes everything more expensive. Our outdoor education rates have not increased since 2004. Price includes: Meals, snacks, lodging, instruction, activities, equipment/entrance fees, AND field trip transportation. Teachers are free at a 1:30 ratio, parent chaperones are half price at 1:9 ratio.

Five Day = $320/student

Four nights, eleven meals, eleven classes, a tidepool exploration hike, and transportation/entrance/equipment fees for TWO offsite trips:

  1. Kayaking on the calm waters of Morro Bay National Estuary to study otters, watersheds, dune ecology, and estuary components
  2. Marine mammal explorations at Piedras Blancas to study the HUGE elephant seal colony, followed by a beautiful hike with marine science activities on the wooded point and sandy beach in San Simeon

We can also arrange other custom trips like:

    • San Luis Obispo tour of Cal Poly, the Old Mission, and the famous Thursday night Farmers Market
    • Hiking up the mountains down to the ocean tidepools in Montana de Oro State Park
    • The geology of Big Sur with hikes in the redwood forest or to spectacular waterfalls

 

     

    Four Day = $250/student

    Three nights, eight meals, nine classes, a tidepool exploration hike, plus ONE off-site adventure/study trip as described above.

     

    Three Day = $200/student

    Two nights, five meals, seven classes, two trips to the tidepools.

      

    Additional Notes:

    • We are NOT limited to 5th-6th grade students.  We have served students from 1st through University level!  We can adjust our curriculum to meet your specific needs.
    • We are NOT limited to weekdays during the school year, but will happily run an outdoor education program during any season and on the weekends - especially the 3 day weekends.
    • We CAN do custom programs.  Our goal is to serve the needs of the teacher and school.  If the above rates and published schedules do not meet your needs - call us - we are very creative!
    • We CAN come to do an assembly or classroom program at YOUR site.  Call for details (805-927-0254).
    • Camp capacity is 110 people.  Small schools will be booked together.  
    • Teachers are free at a 1:30 ratio.  Chaperones are 1/2 price at a 1:9 ratio.
