Average Day At Camp Ocean Pines

Typical Day at Camp
7:20-Wake Up- Rise and shine, get dressed, and cabin clean-up
7:50:Cabin Judging & Flag Raising - Campers show cleaned or decorated cabins to judges. Then we begin the day with a few camp songs or stories around the flagpole.
8:00-Breakfast – Nutritious meal with fresh fruit, juice, and milk included every time.
9:00-10:20, Snack, 10:40-12:00 - Two Electives: Campers have the chance to select from a menu of special activities not available at any other time.
Survival Skills, Arts & Crafts, Naturalist, Field Games, Adventure Games, Theatre, Animal Care, Music, Sports etc...
12:00-Free time/Camp store: A break for free time and souveniers at the Camp Store.
12:30-Hot Lunch: At lunch, we also deliver care packages and notes from home.
1:30-Off site adventure: Campers depart to explore the local wonders of the central coast like the beach activities, hikes, kayaking, and visiting the elephant seal colony.
2:30-Snack time – Nutritious snacks to keep up moving throughout the afternoon.
5:00-Cabin time- Camp slows down as campers head for the cabins and a much needed break before dinner.
5:30-Flag Lowering & Dinner- Songs and stories as we lower the flag, followed by a delicious dinner.
7:00-Twighlight Activity- The program staff facilitate a camp wide game or activity.
8:00-Closing Campfire- The day wraps up at our closing campfire. Campers present their drama learned in the morning activity time (if selected), counselors lead crazy camp songs and put on skits, and we end the evening with reflection of the day.
9:00-Cabin time- Counselors help campers sign up for the next mornings choice activities, then follow up the campfire in their cabins and prepare their campers for bed. Time is given for showers, etc.
10:00-Lights out-The day is done and campers get some much-needed rest.

* Tide pooling in Cambria
* Body boarding in Cayucos
* Swimming at San Simeon Cove
* Jade hunting and hiking in Big Sur
* Hiking to the Elephant Seals
* Horseback riding at Montano de Oro
* Playing at the water park in Paso Robles
* Hiking at Piedras Blancas
