What Are Principals and Teachers Saying

Dear Chris, Rosemay, Tyler and  ALL Staff at Camp Ocean Pines,

Thanks again for another great experience for our 6th graders!  I think
we have been coming up to your camp for 5 or 6 years now and each time
it gets better and better!  The teachers all told me it was the best
camp experience yet.  The students came back excited and enthusiastic.
I immediately started hearing  about squid dissections, tide pooling and
hiking experiences, unique crafts they had made, and  songs they had
learned.  I even was surprised to hear about the great food (camp food
great?? well, that's what they reported to me).  The parents and I were
all very moved to hear them share their stories  - making new  friends,
learning things they will NEVER forget, overcoming challenges...

I asked several students to share with the entire student body at our
school wide assembly about what they had learned.  K-5th grade student
all listened intently.  The these student taught us all a new song which
every one loved ("The Jellyfish Song").  Many students and parents came
up afterwards to tell me how excited they were to get to 6th grade so
they can have this same type of experience.

All the fund-raising was well worth it as I saw the looks on their
faces, and the faces of their parents, when they arrived back at school
after their 3 day outdoor education experience at Camp Ocean Pine!

PS  By the way, Tyler, when you came to our school a couple of weeks
before camp with Rufus (the camp hawk), that was awesome! You talked
about the camp experience, answered questions, introduced them to a red
tailed hawk up close and personal, and set the tone for a great
experience.  Thanks!
