Welcome to Camp Ocean Pines

Outdoor Education - Fall 2009 - Spring 2010

home-page.jpgThe Central Coast of California is an unspoiled place to study nature with the experts.  Camp Ocean Pines provides a unique opportunity for students to meet with excellent naturalists to study marine science and forest ecology.  Our naturalists are well versed in the California State standards, and teachers will enjoy watching their students participate in memorable activity based hands on learning in this remarkable setting.  Call the office and we'll visit your classroom with our red-tailed hawk from our new RAPTOR education program!  We have a few spots left in the Fall 2009 session, and are taking reservations for Spring 2010. Visit our Outdoor Education page to learn more.

Camp Ocean Pines

Camp Ocean Pines in Cambria, California was established in 1946 to serve the community as a non-profit camp and a conference center. Located halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco on the Central Coast, our closest airport is San Luis Obispo (SBP). Camp Ocean Pines sits on thirteen acres of Monterey Pine forest that overlooks the ocean shore.

Learn more about Camp Ocean Pines in our About Us page. Parents, check out our summer camp page to see what is available for your kids. Teachers can bring your students for a week of Outdoor Education. Our facility is also available as a Conference Center when we are not having one of our exceptional workshops or educating school children about the environment in our Outdoor Education programs.

Native American Flute Circle

October 30-November 1, 2009

Flute workshop.jpgThis weekend gathering, the third in the series, will encompass as many as possible of all the suggestions, comments, feelings that we experienced during the Spring workshop, such as, “more drumming”, “more time to practice the new exercise”,  “let’s play more". We encourage all levels of players to attend.  We will hold a special beginners class early in the afternoon in flute playing or drumming that will get you started.
Could this be the best one ever?

Summer Camp 2010 (in 100 Words or Less!)

A full childhood is a gift.  It is our privilege to lead children in fun experiences in a traditional overnight co-ed summer camp.  Filled with laughter and fun, Camp Ocean Pines is a place where campers strive for success, truly connect with nature, and share an emotional experience beyond their own imagination.  In our forest full of wildlife, overlooking the salty sea, we partner with parents to provide skill-building activities and fun adventures in spectacular natural settings where kids experience the joy of success.  There is no other place like Camp Ocean Pines.

Our 2010 Summer Camp Rates and Dates will be posted by Thanksgiving 2009 - just in time to give it to your children as a Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza gift!
